SSG John FaulkenberryJohn was injured while serving in combat operations in Afghanistan. On July 28th, 2007, John was shot by a sniper, the bullet penetrated his left thigh, injuring his sciatic nerve. He has been recovering at Walter Reed Army Medical Center for the past 5 months, and is expected to remain at Walter Reed for an additional year. John will eventually lose a portion of his right leg due to his injury. His optimal outcome is to have his leg amputated below the knee, rather than at the hip. |

SPC David ShebibDavid was serving in Iraq when his vehicle was hit by an IED. He sustained third degree burns to his face, a severed carotid artery, and survived a stroke. After spending several weeks in ICU, David underwent numerous surgeries and rehab at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He is now at his home base where he will continue with his rehab. David is a team member of Operation Denali 2009 and plans to remain on active duty and continue to serve his country. |

SPC Arthur RugensteinArthur was injured in Iraq in February 2008 when the Humvee he was riding in was hit by an IED while on a combat patrol. Arthur sustained injuries to his lower extremity and is currently recovering at his home base. Arthur’s prognosis is good and he intends to remain on active duty and continue to serve his country. |
